Texas Scaregrounds is a haunted theme park located in Kennedale to the southwest of Ft Worth, just off of I-20 on Business 287. Three haunted houses (Chaos, Nightmares, The Asylum) and a hayride are included in a combo ticket priced at $28, with discount coupons available at local businesses and on the haunt's site.

Chaos is the longest of the houses, taking at least 30 minutes (probably 35-40 minutes for most people0 and features a combination of swamp, graveyard, clownhouse, and Texas chainsaw massacre type scenes. Nightmares is the most intense of the houses. it has more actors and is darker than the other two haunts. A personal intro tour from the owner (Terry) adds a nice touch to the place. The Nightmares actors know where to hide and when to move to catch you off guard and tend to follow you around until you leave their area. A denser than normal fog adds to the fear factor inside Nightmares. The Asylum is primarily medical/laboratory in orientation and does have one of the better mazes I've seen. The fairly brief hayride is child friendly, but it is a pleasant ride in the woods.

It is easy to spend a couple of hours at the Texas Scaregrounds so the combo ticket is a good value, especially with a coupon. Given the number of attractions and length of Chaos, you should probably plan on spending most of your evening at this haunt park.
