This year the haunted house inside Loius Tussaud's (Ripley's) in Grand Prairie has changed it's theme to funhouse with the Carnival of Screams. Clowns are now the dominant force in the haunt, while Singe and the other monsters are still around. A new attraction, the Enchanted Mirror Maze, has been added and is truly remarkable. This isn't some run of the mill light maze, it's long hallways that look straight, but in fact twist and turn. The hallways are mirrored and the lights are positioned exactly the same in every hallway so it always looks like you're seeing the same thing, making it very easy to get lost and tough to find your way out. You have to put on gloves to avoid getting the mirrors dirty, and you will be touching the mirrors quite a bit as you constantly run into them, hopefully hands first. This is really the best light maze I've seen and is a must see.

The Carnival Of Screams begins with an extremely well done area with fog and strobe lights, plus well placed actors. Following that you'll find lots of clowns of course, as well as a great variation on the spot room, with a double slash room with camouflaged actors. An excellent graveyard and a large fogged room are my two favorites. Throughout the Carnival dim light and fog make the experience very creepy. Michael Myers is a roaming monster this year and great scenes with Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, Freddy, Jason, the Phantom of the Opera, Alien, Predator, and Hannibal Lecter are found in in the museum part of the carnival.

Carnival is only $18, reduced to $15 with a coupon available at area Whataburgers, but I recommend purchasing the combo ticket for the Carnival, the Maze, and Ripley's. As  I said, the Maze is one of a kind, and Ripley's is lots of fun, especially Tornado Alley. As long as you're there, see everything, they have the highest quality props and displays you'll see at any haunted attraction.
