Other Halloween Activities
Phantom Ship
Phantom Ship is a child friendly haunt in the Southlake Carroll HS Auditorium. It's put on by the school's drama club and is a nice place to take your kids, especially if you live in or around Southlake. This is a pirate themed show with lots of good actors and some creative props and sets, particularly the rocking part of the ship. The cost ($10) is reasonable and Phantom Ship makes a nice break from the typical haunted attractions in the Metroplex. Click on the banner to visit their site for more details.
Six Flags "Fright" Fest
Six Flags has it's annual "let's exploit Halloween for as much money as possible" celebration each October. Unlike other major theme parks, our Six Flags puts almost no money into it's "haunted houses" which wouldn't scare a five year old. In the past they at least decorated the entire park, but they now only decorate a few "scare zones" since it's so expensive to buy spider webs at Party City. If you either like their rides, or just feel like getting ripped off (tickets plus parking aren't cheap) here is the link: www.sixflags.com/parks/overtexas
Haunted Forest
Northwood University has it's annual haunted trail for $5 each weekend for the remainder of the month plus Halloween night. I've been on it before and it is a nice walk in the woods. The info line is 972 293 5445
