The Dallas Scaregrounds is located on Irving Blvd close to downtown Dallas. The Scaregrounds is a multihaunt attraction with three houses in one (Necrotorium, Terrortorium, Hallucinatorium) plus a carnival outside and a monster maze. The price for the haunted houses is $16 with a $2 fee for entrance to the carnival grounds.

The Scaregrounds' houses feature both excellent props and lots of actors as well as a Halloween carnival atmosphere outside. Live bands play and there are several merchants plus food vendors, so you can spend quite a bit of time at the Scaregrounds after going through the houses. Merchants include a gift shop, a Chupacabra display, fortune telling, a makeup artist (face painting) plus two food stalls. Monsters on stilts roam outside adding to the entertainment.

The long (30 minute+) main haunt begins with the Necrotorium, continues with the Terrortorium, and ends with the Hallucinatorium. The Necrotorium is a more traditional haunted house with monsters, skeletons, cobweb lined halls, dungeons, and cemeteries. The Terrortorium is laboratory experiment based with mad doctors, experiment gone wrong monsters, and a prison. The Hallucinatorium is a 3-D house in which you'll wear glasses. It's the longest 3-D attraction in the area and features outstanding painting and props on the walls and floor that look fantastic with 3-D glasses on.

The Dallas Scaregrounds is an excellent haunted attraction and is the only haunt worth going to in the city of Dallas. For $18 you get a great deal of variety and you can spend an entire evening in the fair outside.

For $4 you can go through an additional attraction called the Monster Maze. The Maze features roaming monsters and well done props. It's definitely a good value and lots of fun due to the quality of the actors.
